From time to time, I will review documentaries. I can be an information junkie and actually quite enjoy the kind that gives me pertinent info, such as this one. I realized automatically when it began that I would devour this one right up. The reason I suggest watching it again and again and again is simply to pass it on. I believe the information in this movie, if shared with enough people, can be a tool for good health. It reveals shocking truths that beg to be shared with everyone.

There are general documentary elements such as following Gameau around with his experiment, but other aspects made it enticingly watchable. Some moments will are very Osmosis Jonesy, as we zip through bodily organs to get a first hand look at the effects sugar has on our bodies. They also found very “entertaining” ways to introduce the researcher’s information. I read that some critics did not enjoy this flashy method of passing along this information, but I am here to defend it. The “fun” displays may seem a little corny to some, but this film was marketed towards a large array of people. It may even appeal to the younger crowd as they might be able to digest it as well. You could say the same for last years documentary Fed Up (another one targeting the sugar industry).

The idea is to create ultimate understanding of the information so it is usable by the general population and possibly further. Whether you enjoy this information (like I do) or not, it is the real deal and exists to teach. If you want to advocate change in our population’s health, I insist you view this one and pass it along!
