It Follows succeeds in creating a haunting atmosphere with a dash of originality. The situation at hand instantly wins at achieving the nightmarish relevance we need to feel frightened. A big number of scary movies often lack this type of originality and ultimately end up being an unfortunate waste of time. Speaking of time, my only real complaint is that this flick was a huge doddle-fest. I understand the genre they where going for can take it’s time to set up suspenseful moments and loves to show off it’s slasher 80’s musical score, but I got a bit antsy.

Appreciation also for the casting! Once in a millennial moon horror films will cast the correct age for high school students, just as they did here (heads up Hollywood, we know that teenager is in fact 26 most of the time!) I also enjoyed the array of fresh faces that did a decent job at not sucking! 😀

The scares where mediocre, but the creep factor was turned up to high. It really gave me the willies and forced me to ponder about myself in this terrible situation.

As often as scary movies are a huge gamble, I would give it to this one as a good bet for that thunderstorm and popcorn flick night!
