Suicide Squad

So… It might be a toss up for you. If you are easy going and accepting then you might be able to just roll with the punches thrown at you here. If not, it might be one you will want to miss. Lots of in your face action meets Jock Jams meets terrible one-liners. I thought it was fun overall, but some of our more serious action/superhero fans might not be as warm to it’s muddled plot, thin writing, and wild direction.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

I’m excited to dig into this one and saddened that I missed it on the big screen. I’ll also need to read it apparently as I hear that it’s a fantastic book. Reviews are great with raves that Tim Burton’s style shines through and makes it a visual delight. Let’s go!

Florence Foster Jenkins

Pretty much anything Meryl Streep touches turns to gold including this strange true-to-life story of an opera singer who couldn’t actually sing. The word is that it has the emotionalism to grip you and satisfy. It looks as pleasing to me as The Kings Speech did. I think I’ll enjoy it.

Southside With You

If you know me you know that I have a bit of a crush on the Obamas. I think they are the absolute cutest thing… AND I still haven’t seen this their first date movie, but am much enthused to get to it! The buzz is that it’s charming and fascinating. I’m ready for a rose-tinted romance between two wonderful people.
